The director, with the advice and consent of the commission, shall appoint a qualified public relations officer whose duty it shall be to make information available to the public concerning rules, regulations, and policies of the commission, to generally make information available to the public on game and fish conservation work, and to perform such other public relations duties as may be directed by the director.
