(1) Before July 1, 1995, the Department of Environmental Quality shall complete a comparative risk assessment that will include consideration of environmental risks to the health and welfare of the citizens of Mississippi and to the environment. The assessment also shall include an examination of environmental factors, public health factors and socioeconomic factors. The department shall provide for public participation in the assessment process.(2) The requirements of this section shall be contingent upon the receipt of federal funds.Laws, 1994, ch. 598, § 4, eff. 7/1/1994.
