Section 49-7-77 - Game protected during high water or fire

It shall be unlawful to hunt, trap, take, frighten, or kill game or fur-bearing animals forced out of their natural habitat by high water or fire until they have been permitted to return to such habitat by recession of such water, or the extinguishing of such fire.All quail shall be protected from all hunting when the ground is covered by snow or when forced out of their natural habitat by high water or fire until they have been permitted to return to such habitat by the recession of such water or the extinguishing of such fire.Codes, 1942, § 5898; Laws, 1932, ch. 123; Laws, 1936, ch. 221; Laws, 1964, ch. 232, eff. 6/11/1964.
