Section 51-33-29 - Cooperative agreements with U

Drainage districts already created or to be created under the laws of the State of Mississippi are hereby authorized and empowered to enter into cooperative agreements with the U.S. Corps of Engineers to carry out the purposes for which the districts were created, including the power to contract with the said Corps of Engineers for the construction, alteration, changing, or cleaning out of any stream or levee, with the power in the district acting through its commissioners to authorize the letting of contracts therefor by the Corps of Engineers rather than the district.This section is additional and supplemental to any other statutes of this state affecting drainage districts, and the powers herein conferred affect only the authority of drainage districts to contract with the U.S. Corps of Engineers, as herein stated.Codes, 1942, § 4606.4; Laws, 1964, 1st Ex.
