The governing body of a member may exercise the power of eminent domain, upon written request of the board of commissioners, for the particular purpose of the acquisition of property for the district's storm water management system. The power of eminent domain shall be exercised as provided in Chapter 27, Title 11, Mississippi Code of 1972. Laws, 2000, ch. 597, § 15, eff. 8/21/2000 (the date the United States Attorney General interposed no objection under Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965).
