Section 53-7-17 - Commission to retain exclusive jurisdiction on passage of federal strip mining legislation

Upon the passage of any federal surface mining legislation, the commission shall take steps necessary to establish the exclusive jurisdiction of the commission over the regulation of surface mining and reclamation operations in this state.Laws, 1977 ch. 476, § 5(5); Laws, 2002, ch. 492, § 7, eff. 7/1/2002.
