Section 55-9-5 - Applicability of other laws to bond issues

The laws applicable to the issuance of bonds by a county or by a municipality shall apply to the respective issuance of bonds pursuant to Section 55-9-1, except that an election therefor may be called without the filing of petitions therefor by the qualified electors of either the county or municipality, and that such bonds may be issued, provided a majority of the qualified electors voting in the elections called for that purpose shall vote for the issuance of such bonds.Codes, 1942, § 5977; Laws, 1940, ch. 271.
