(1) A segment of U.S. Highway 45 located within the incorporated city limits of Macon, Noxubee County, Mississippi, extending for a distance of approximately one (1) mile shall be designated and shall be known as the 'Sergeant Travis S. Cooper Memorial Highway.' The mayor and the board of aldermen for the City of Macon shall specify the exact segment of highway for the designation and make the designation known to the Mississippi Department of Transportation for the purpose of subsection (2) of this section.(2) The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs along and approaching the segment of highway described in subsection (1) of this section.Added by Laws, 2024, ch. 343, HB 75,§ 1, eff. 7/1/2024.
