Section 69-15-301 - Duties of Board of Animal Health; assistant executive officer for tick eradication; inspectors, range riders and other employees

(1) The work of tick eradication shall be prosecuted by the Board of Animal Health under the following provisions: The State Veterinarian, with the approval and consent of the board, shall hire an assistant executive officer for tick eradication who shall receive a salary of not exceeding Four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) per annum to be fixed by the board, who shall be duly qualified for the work and of recognized ability and experience in tick eradication and who shall have full authority and jurisdiction, subject to the rules and regulations of the Board of Animal Health in the matter, direction and administration of the work of eradication of the Texas and splenic fever and the fever-carrying tick, in the State of Mississippi, until such time as in the judgment of the board it is necessary for the prosecution to a successful conclusion of the campaign of eradicating said ticks and tick fever.(2) The assistant executive officer shall have for the purpose of eradication of the Texas and splenic fever or fever-carrying tick, all the powers, authority and jurisdiction now conferred by law upon the Executive Officer of the Board of Animal Health, upon the conditions and limitations
