(1) The provisions of this article which provides authority to the Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce to administer the provisions of the 'Mississippi Hemp Cultivation Act,' shall be subject to legislative appropriation or receipt of necessary funding from any private or public entity for purposes of implementation.(2) The provisions of this article shall not have any effect upon any programs administered by Mississippi State University, which shall remain exempt, as such programs related to the educational, research or testing functions performed by Mississippi State Chemical Laboratory, shall continue to function in accordance with the mission of the university, as approved by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.Added by Laws, 2020, ch. 413, SB 2725,§ 16, eff. 6/29/2020.
