The commissioner, with the approval of the corporation, is authorized to carry out programs to suppress or eradicate the boll weevil in this state through suppression, pre-eradication, post-eradication, or containment/maintenance programs. The commissioner is authorized to cooperate with any agency of any state or the federal government, any other agency in this state, any person engaged in growing, processing, marketing, or handling cotton, or any group of those persons in this state in programs to effectuate the purposes of this chapter and may enter into written agreements to effectuate those purposes. The agreements may provide for cost sharing and for division of duties and responsibilities under this chapter and may include other provisions generally to effectuate the purposes of this chapter.Laws, 1993, ch. 345, § 4; Laws, 2010, ch. 524, § 4, eff. 7/1/2010.
