The governor shall cause to be recorded in a suitable book to be kept for that purpose the number and title of every act and joint resolution of the legislature presented to him for his approval. Such record shall show the date of the receipt by him of every such act and resolution, the date of his approval thereof in whole or in part, if he approve the same, and the date of his return of any such act or resolution with his objections thereto, if such return thereof be made. He shall cause all acts and joint resolutions which have become laws, or have taken effect by his approval or otherwise, to be deposited in the office of the secretary of state without delay.Codes, 1892, § 2180; 1906, § 2397; Hemingway's 1917, § 4790; 1930, § 4819; 1942, § 3977.
