Section 73-38-9 - Qualifications and requirements for license, registration, or privilege to practice

(1) To be eligible for licensure by the board as a speech-language pathologist or audiologist and to be eligible for registration as a speech-language pathology aide or audiology aide, a person shall:(a) Be of good moral character;(b)(1) For speech-language pathologists or audiologists, possess at least a master's degree or its equivalent in the area of speech-language pathology or audiology, as the case may be, from an educational institution recognized by the board;(2) For speech-language pathology aide or audiology aide, the board shall set minimum educational standards which shall be less than a bachelor's degree;(c) For speech-language pathologists and audiologists, submit evidence of the completion of the educational, clinical experience and employment requirements, which requirements shall be based on appropriate national standards and prescribed by the rules and regulations adopted pursuant to this article;(d) For speech-language pathologists and audiologists licensure applicants, pass an examination approved by the board.
