Section 73-39-79 - Program of care, counseling or treatment for impaired veterinarians

(1) The board shall establish a program of care, counseling or treatment for impaired veterinarians.(2) The program of care, counseling or treatment shall include a written schedule of organized treatment, care, counseling, activities or education satisfactory to the board designed for the purposes of restoring an impaired person to a condition whereby the impaired person can practice veterinary medicine with reasonable skill and safety of a sufficient degree to deliver competent patient care.(3) All persons authorized to practice by the board shall report in good faith any veterinarian they reasonably believe to be impaired as defined in Section 73-39-53.
