Section 75-29-1 - Legislative findings

The Legislature finds that there is a need for the equal and uniform regulation of all food and food products and for the provision for the sale of such products. This article is intended to authorize the State Board of Health to provide a regulatory framework for the intrastate and interstate sale of food and food products, and to prevent the sale of adulterated or mislabeled food or food products not otherwise regulated by existing law. In the event any provision of this article conflicts with such law, the existing law will control.Codes, 1892, § 2097; 1906, § 2282; Hemingway's 1917, § 4654; 1930, § 4957; 1942, § 7107; Laws, 1997, ch. 430, § 1, eff. 7/1/1997.
