Section 75-40-1 - Importation and sale of live skunks prohibited; exceptions

It shall be unlawful for any person to import or cause to be imported into this state any live skunk, or to sell, barter, exchange or otherwise transfer any live skunk; provided, however, that the provisions of this article shall not apply to bona fide zoos or research institutions. This article shall not be construed to prohibit the sale of live skunks to persons outside the state by a resident of Mississippi who is a skunk farmer approved by the United States Department of Agriculture.Laws, 1980, ch. 422, § 1(1), eff. 4/30/1980.
