The Legislature recognizes that aquaculture is the fastest growing segment of the United States agriculture industry and declares that it is the intent of this legislation to effectively encourage and support United States citizens in expanded and new growth of aquaculture in this state while conserving and enhancing aquatic resources and providing mechanisms for increasing aquaculture production which will lead to the creation of new industries, job opportunities, income for aquaculturists, tax revenues and other benefits to this state.Laws, 1988, ch. 481, § 2; Laws, 1993, ch. 457, § 1, eff. 7/1/1993.
