Where no other criminal penalty is specifically provided in this chapter, if any association or its agents, attorneys or solicitors, officers or directors, or any other person shall solicit or negotiate any deposit of money or in anywise transact any business regulated hereunder in this state without having first fully complied in good faith with the provisions of this chapter, such association and any such person, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of not more than Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) or imprisonment for not more than five (5) years, or both.Laws, 1977, ch. 445, § 65; reenacted, Laws, 1982, ch. 301, § 104; Laws, 1990 Ex Sess, ch. 52, § 107; Laws, 1993, ch. 441, § 108; Laws, 1994, ch. 622, § 140; reenacted without change, Laws, 1997, ch. 496, § 105; reenacted without change, Laws, 2001, ch. 488, § 107, eff. 7/1/2001.
