(1) No foreign bank shall establish or maintain a Mississippi state representative office unless such foreign bank is licensed by the commissioner to maintain such a Mississippi representative office.(2) Nothing in subsection (1) shall be deemed to prohibit a foreign bank which maintains a federal agency or federal branch in the State of Mississippi from establishing or maintaining one or more Mississippi representative offices.Laws, 1996, ch. 441, § 33, eff. 5/1/1997.
