Section 83-5-703 - Definitions

As used in this article, unless the context requires otherwise:(a) 'Commissioner' means the Commissioner of Insurance of the State of Mississippi.(b) 'Corporate Governance Annual Disclosure (CGAD)' means a confidential report filed by the insurer or insurance group made in accordance with the requirements of this article.(c) 'Insurance group' means those insurers and affiliates included within an insurance holding company system as defined in Section 83-6-1 et seq.(d) 'Insurer' shall have the same meaning as set forth in Section 83-6-1(e), except that it shall not include agencies, authorities or instrumentalities of the United States, its possessions and territories, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the District of Columbia, or a state or political subdivision of a state.(e) 'NAIC' means the National Association of Insurance Commissioners.(f) 'ORSA Summary Report' means the report filed in accordance with Section 83-85-1 et seq.Added by Laws, 2019, ch. 343, HB 324,§ 2, eff. 1/1/2020.Effective date and filings - Section 10 of Laws, 2019, ch. 343, HB 324 provides: 'This act shall take effect and be in force from and after January 1, 2020.
