Section 83-5-861 - Relation of section to other law; confirmation of receipt of notice or document delivered electronically; applicability of article

(1) The provisions of this section shall not be construed to affect requirements related to content or timing of any notice or document required by any other provision of law.(2) If a provision of this title or other applicable law requiring a notice or document to be provided to a party expressly requires confirmation of receipt of the notice or document, the notice or document may be delivered by electronic means only if the method used provides for confirmation of receipt by the recipient.(3) This article shall not apply to a notice or document delivered by an insurer in an electronic form before July 1, 2022, to a party who, before that date, has consented to receive the notice or document in an electronic form otherwise allowed by law.Added by Laws, 2022, ch. 374, HB 1187,§ 6, eff. 7/1/2022.
