Section 83-5-903 - Legislative findings

The Mississippi Legislature finds and declares that:(a) The health care professional-patient relationship is paramount and should not be subject to unreasonable third-party interference;(b) Prior authorization programs may be subject to member coverage agreements and medical policies, but shall not hinder the independent medical judgment of a physician or other health care provider; and(c) Prior authorization programs must be transparent to ensure a fair and consistent process for health care providers and their patients.Added by Laws, 2024, ch. 302, SB 2140,§ 2, eff. 7/1/2024.
