Section 83-1-43 - Authority of commissioner to enforce federal "Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996

The Commissioner of Insurance may make use of any of the powers established under the insurance laws and regulations of this state to enforce the federal 'Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.' The commissioner may establish and, from time to time, amend the rules and regulations relating to the enforcement of and compliance with the 'Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996.' Laws, 1997, ch. 341, § 3, eff. 3/17/1997.
