When a corporation shall be convicted, on indictment for a nuisance, for not repairing or keeping in repair any road, causeway, bridge, or ferry, and shall neglect to pay the fine and costs awarded against it therefor for the space of three months after an execution shall have been issued for the same, then it shall not be lawful for such corporation, its officers, agents, or any other person, to demand or take any toll upon any part of its road, or any causeway, bridge, or ferry not kept in repair, until the fine and costs be paid.Codes, 1857, ch. 64, art. 272; 1871, § 2772; 1880, § 3022; 1892, § 1371; 1906, § 1443; Hemingway's 1917, § 1200; 1930, § 1223; 1942, § 2466.
