It shall be unlawful for any person by the use of force or violence, or threat of the use of force or violence, to prevent or to attempt to prevent any person from engaging in any lawful vocation within this state. Any person guilty of violating this section shall be deemed guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined in the sum of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or imprisoned in the county jail not more than six months, or both, or in the state penitentiary not more than two (2) years.Codes, 1942, § 2126; Laws, 1942, ch. 323.
