Section 97-25-31 - Railroads; stealing animal killed or wounded by railroad

Any person other than the owner thereof or the agents or employees of the railroad company who shall take and carry away, with intent to appropriate to his own use, any animal killed or wounded by the engine or cars of a railroad company, without obtaining the consent of such owner or the agent of such company, shall be guilty of larceny, and, upon conviction, be punished as provided by law for the larceny of such animal.Codes, 1880, § 2910; 1892, § 1185; 1906, § 1263; Hemingway's 1917, § 993; 1930, § 1021; 1942, § 2253.
