Section 97-3-115 - Mississippi Carjacking Act; definitions

The following words and phrases shall have the meanings ascribed herein unless the context clearly indicates otherwise:(a) 'Carjacking' means taking of a motor vehicle from another person's immediate actual possession knowingly or recklessly by force or violence, whether against resistance or by sudden or stealthy seizure or snatching, or by putting in fear, or attempting to do so, or by any other means.(b) 'Motor vehicle' includes every device in, upon or by which any person or property is or may be transported or drawn upon a highway, which is self-propelled.Laws, 1993, ch. 471, § 2, eff. 3/27/1993.
