Section 99-1-27 - Victim of sex offenses not required to submit to truth telling devices as condition for proceeding with investigation of offense

(1) No law enforcement officer, prosecutor or other government official shall ask or require an adult, youth or child victim of a sex offense to submit to a polygraph examination or other truth telling device as a condition for proceeding with the investigation of the offense.(2) The refusal of a victim to submit to an examination described above shall not prevent the investigation of the offense.(3) For purposes of this section, a 'sex offense' shall have the meaning ascribed in Section 45-33-23(h). Laws, 2008, ch. 391, § 4, eff. 7/1/2008.
