Section 99-35-137 - Copy of death sentence to be delivered to sheriff

It shall be the duty of the clerk of the court to which the mandate of the supreme court for the execution of a prisoner punishable by death is sent, forthwith to deliver to the sheriff of the proper county a copy of the sentence, under the seal of his office, which shall be the warrant of the sheriff for executing the convict.Codes, 1880, § 1435; 1892, § 4372; 1906, § 4938; Hemingway's 1917, § 3214; 1930, § 3397; 1942, § 1981.
