The division of personnel of the office of administration, the administrative head of which is the personnel director, shall administer this chapter and render the services to the departments and divisions subject to the provisions of this chapter that are necessary and desirable to assist the officials in discharging their responsibility for maintaining and increasing the effectiveness of personnel administration. The division shall provide consultation and expertise in personnel management to all agencies to assist in the accomplishment of the missions of such agencies. 2. The division shall administer this chapter in a manner which complies with equal opportunity law and shall consult with the state equal employment opportunity officer in various aspects of the administration of this chapter to ensure such compliance.
