Title V MILITARY AFFAIRS AND POLICE Chapter 41 • Effective - 28 Aug 1951, 2 histories 41.420. Discharges shall be recorded and copies of records furnished without fee. — 1. Recorders of deeds of all counties and the city of St. Louis shall, without charging any fee, record the discharge of any person who is the holder of a discharge from the militia upon demand by the holder thereof of the recorder for the county, or city, in which the holder is then a resident. 2. Whenever a certified copy or copies of any public record in the state of Missouri are required to perfect a claim upon the government of the United States or the state of Missouri of any member of the organized militia or the Armed Forces of the United States in service or honorably discharged, or any dependent or legal representative of such member, such copies shall upon request be furnished by the custodian of such records without any fee or compensation therefor.
