Vacancies filled, how. — Vacancies occurring in the office of any commissioner shall be filled by appointment by the governor, by and with the advice and consent of the senate, for the unexpired term. In any case of vacancy, while the senate is not in session, the governor shall make a temporary appointment until the next meeting of the senate, when he shall nominate some person to fill such office. -------- (L. 1949 p. 562 § 3)
