Title VII CITIES, TOWNS AND VILLAGES Chapter 72 • Effective - 28 Aug 1978 72.153. Cities separated by street or stream may consolidate as though contiguous. — If the cities, towns or villages proposing to consolidate are separated only by a street, road or other public way, or a stream, or vacant land, they may consolidate as though they were adjoining and contiguous by taking in the street, road or other public way, or stream or vacant land as part of the consolidated municipality. The question submitted to the voters of each city, town or village shall include a provision that the street, road or other public way, or stream or vacant land to the extent set out by appropriate description in the proposition shall become a part of the consolidated municipality upon approval of the voters voting on the question. ­­-------- (L. 1965 p. 192, A.L. 1978 H.B. 971)
