Records management and archives service to be established — appointment of director. — The secretary of state shall establish and administer in the executive branch of state government a 'Records Management and Archives Service' for the efficient and economical application of management methods to the creation, utilization, maintenance, retention, preservation and disposal of official records. He shall make an annual report to the governor for transmission to the legislature. The report shall describe the status and progress of programs and shall include recommendations for improvements and additional economies in the management of state government. The secretary shall appoint a director of records management and archives service who shall be technically qualified in records management and archives practices and techniques. -------- (L. 1965 p. 233 § 3)
