Insurance for retired members may be provided — rules and regulations. — The retirement system may contribute toward an insurance plan for the benefit of retired members which may provide dental, hospital, surgical, medical, life, accident, and similar insurance benefits as approved by the board of trustees. Such contributions shall be a part of the administrative costs of the retirement system.
