Title XII PUBLIC HEALTH AND WELFARE Chapter 205 Effective - 28 Aug 1973 205.765. Health and welfare department authorized — certain counties excepted. — 1. The county commission of any county of the first class may by resolution create a department of health and welfare which department shall be operated in the manner hereinafter set out. 2. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection 1, no department of health and welfare shall be created in any county of the first class not having a charter form of government in which a county health center has been established pursuant to the provisions of sections 205.010 to 205.150, whether or not the health center is established prior to the county's attaining first class status. -------- (L. 1951 p. 786 § 1, A.L. 1973 H.B. 642)
