Title XIX MOTOR VEHICLES, WATERCRAFT AND AVIATION Chapter 302 • Effective - 28 Aug 1989 302.730. Nonresident may operate commercial motor vehicles, when. — 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, a nonresident may drive a commercial motor vehicle if the person has a commercial driver's license or a commercial driver's instruction permit issued by any state in accordance with the minimum federal standards established by the secretary and the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986 (Title XII of Pub. Law 99-570), which license is not suspended, revoked, or cancelled, and who is not otherwise disqualified from operating a commercial motor vehicle or subject to an out of service order in any state. 2. Any commercial motor vehicle driver who has been licensed in another state in accordance with the Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1986 (Title XII of Pub. Law 99-570), and has moved into this state before July 1, 1990, or such other effective date as stated in section 307.782, shall apply for a license in this state, which license shall not be issued before July 27, 1989, and such person shall be allowed to operate a commercial motor vehicle with the license
