Energy center to serve as coordinator of energy sustainability activities, duties. — The division of energy of the department of economic development shall serve as a central point of coordination for activities relating to energy sustainability in the state. As such, the division of energy shall: (1) Consult and cooperate with other state agencies to serve as a technical advisor on sustainability issues, including but not limited to renewable energy use and green building design and construction; (2) Provide technical assistance to local governments, businesses, schools, and homeowners on sustainability issues, including but not limited to renewable energy use and green building design and construction; and (3) Conduct outreach and education efforts, which may be in coordination with community action agencies, for the purpose of informing the general public about financial assistance opportunities for energy conservation, including but not limited to tax incentives. -------- (L. 2008 S.B. 1181, et al., A.L. 2018 S.B. 975 & 1024 Revision)
