Title XXIV BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS Chapter 374 • Effective - 28 Aug 1978 374.400. Definitions. — Unless otherwise clearly indicated by the context, the following words and terms as used in sections 374.400 to 374.410 shall mean: (1) 'Director', the director of the department of commerce and insurance; (2) 'Dwelling-owners' insurance', a policy of insurance on a one- or two-family owner-occupied premises* which combines fire and allied lines with any one or more perils of casualty, liability, or other types of insurance within one policy form at a single premium, where the insurer's liability for damage to the premises* under said policy is determined with reference to the premises' actual cash value; (3) 'Homeowners' insurance', a policy of insurance on a one- or two-family owner-occupied premises* which combines fire and allied lines with any one or more perils of casualty, liability, or other types of insurance within one policy form at a single premium, where the insurer's liability for damage to the premises* under said policy is determined with reference to the premises' replacement value; (4) 'Insurer', any insurance company, reciprocal or inter-insurance
