Definitions. — Unless otherwise clearly indicated by the context, the following words and terms as used in sections 374.450 and 374.455 shall mean: (1) 'Director', the director of the department of commerce and insurance; (2) 'Insurer', any insurance company, reciprocal or inter-insurance exchange, licensed and authorized by the director to write automobile insurance within this state; (3) 'Private automobile insurance', a policy of insurance covering private passenger nonfleet vehicles owned by an individual or by a husband and wife and providing any one or more perils of protection against bodily injury liability, property damage liability, medical payments, uninsured motorist, comprehensive, collision, or other insurance coverage incidental to the operation of the vehicle. -------- (L. 1979 H.B. 503 § 1) Effective 7-01-80
