The word 'insurer' as used in sections 376.770 to 376.800 shall mean any insurance company issuing or writing any policy of accident and sickness insurance which is subject to the provisions of sections 376.770 to 376.800. 2. The term 'policy of accident and sickness insurance' as used in sections 376.770 to 376.800 includes any policy or contract of insurance against loss resulting from sickness or from bodily injury or death by accident, or both, issued or written by any insurance company authorized under the laws of the state of Missouri to transact such insurance in this state or issued by any insurance company to a resident of the state of Missouri. 3. The term 'director of insurance' as used in sections 376.770 to 376.800 shall mean the director of the department of commerce and insurance. -------- (L. 1959 H.B. 252 § 2)
