Relief may be sought for child for domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault — order of protection effective, where. — 1. An order of protection for a child who has been subject to domestic violence by a present or former household member or sexual assault or stalking by any person may be sought under sections 455.500 to 455.538 by the filing of a verified petition alleging such domestic violence, stalking, or sexual assault by the respondent. 2. A child's right to relief under sections 455.500 to 455.538 shall not be affected by the child's leaving the residence or household to avoid domestic violence. 3.
