Title XXXVII CRIMINAL PROCEDURE Chapter 545 Effective - 28 Aug 1939 545.560. Duty of sheriff. — The sheriff shall obey such order without unnecessary delay, and shall endorse on the commitment or process by virtue of which the prisoner was in his custody, the reason of the change of custody, and shall deliver such warrant, with the prisoner, to the keeper of the jail of the proper county, who shall give such sheriff a receipt therefor and take charge of and keep the prisoner in the same manner as if he had been originally committed to such jail. -------- (RSMo 1939 § 4028) Prior revisions: 1929 § 3639; 1919 § 3982; 1909 § 5189
