16-1-104. Intent and construction of code. (1) The purpose and intent of this code are to: (a) establish a state licensing system to control the transportation and importation of alcoholic beverages into Montana and the manufacture, sale, transportation, and distribution of alcoholic beverages within the state of Montana; and (b) prohibit transactions in alcoholic beverages within the state of Montana except under state control as specifically provided by this code.
