The purpose of this chapter is to: (1) protect the health and safety of the people of this state from the danger of electrically caused shocks, fires, and explosions; (2) protect property from the hazard of electrically caused fires and explosions; (3) establish a procedure for determining where and by whom electrical installations are to be made; (4) assure the public that persons making electrical installations are qualified; and (5) ensure that the electrical installations in this state meet minimum safety standards.
