(1) An employer may not, directly or indirectly, make, require, or accept any deduction from wages to finance the employer's contributions required from the employer or require or accept a waiver of any right under this chapter by an individual in the employer's employ. (2) An employer or officer or agent of an employer who violates any provision of 39-51-3102 or this section shall, for each offense, be fined not more than $1,000 or be imprisoned for not more than 6 months, or both.
