45-9-114. Criminal advertisement of imitation dangerous drug -- penalty. (1) A person commits the offense of criminal advertisement of an imitation dangerous drug if the person knowingly or purposely places in any newspaper, magazine, handbill, or other publication or posts or distributes any advertisement or solicitation to promote the manufacture, sale, exchange, or distribution of an imitation dangerous drug. (2) A person convicted of criminal advertisement of an imitation dangerous drug under this section is punishable by a fine not to exceed $100,000 or by imprisonment in the state prison for a term of not more than 10 years, or both.
