52-2-734. Fire safety -- certification required. (1) The state fire prevention and investigation section of the department of justice shall adopt and enforce rules for the protection of children in day-care centers from fire hazards and arrange for any inspections and investigations it considers necessary. (2) Before a license can be issued to operate a day-care center, each applicant shall submit to the department a certificate of approval from the state fire prevention and investigation section of the department of justice indicating compliance with fire safety rules.
