7-14-2128. Designation of emergency area near construction project. (1) A board of county commissioners may designate a portion of a county or state secondary road as an emergency area if increased traffic due to a construction project threatens public safety. (2) Notice of the designation shall be printed in a newspaper of general circulation in the county. The notice shall describe the portion of road to be designated as an emergency area and the reason for the designation. The board shall post the area or roads affected with adequate signs. (3) The board shall remove the emergency designation within 30 days after the cessation of the increased traffic. History: (1)En.
