§ 7-2-4901

7-2-4901. Automatic disincorporation. (1) If the governing body of any city or town incorporated under the laws of Montana ceases to exist or fails to function for a period of 2 years, the city or town shall be disincorporated in the manner set forth in this part. (2) (a) In cases where a city or town has been disincorporated by virtue of the provisions of subsection (1), the county commissioners shall file in their office an order that the disincorporation be granted. This order takes effect within 60 days following the date of the order. (b) A certified copy of the order shall be sent to the state officials named in 7-2-4906. History: (1)En.
